Change the World By Changing What You Eat
The Regional Farm & Food Project is a member supported, farmer focused, non-profit serving the greater Hudson-Mohawk Valley food shed of New York State. Founded in 1996 to promote sustainable agriculture and local food systems, we do grass roots organizing, farmer to farmer trainings, consumer re-skilling workshops and public issues education. Our reward is restoring the balance between farms and factories, local and global, and people and profits.
There have been many new and exciting developments recently within the organization. We have a new Executive Director, Board of Directors and Board of Advisors whom we are eager to introduce to the farm and food community. We are very excited to be offering our year long Nutrient Dense Farming workshop series, which will eventually lead to a Nutrient Dense Certification Program. Those interested in our workshops and all upcoming events should consider becoming Regional Farm & Food Project members. Annual membership is $50, includes a subscription to our printed quarterly newsletter and will discount all events and classes. We will be continuing many of our long honored traditions as well as announcing new events and endeavors and updating many features to our website.
Please join us at our Annual Members Meeting, January 9 at noon at The First Lutheran Church, 181 Western Ave., Albany, NY. Dan Kittredge will be our keynote and speaking about the core ideas behind Nutrient Dense Farming. It is our traditional farmers pot luck, so please contact Louise Frazier, 518.489.5558, if you would like to contribute your favorite dish or to volunteer.
We hope you are all have a wonderful holiday season and look forward to seeing you at the annual meeting!
Sincerely,
Gianni Ortiz
